Product Overview
The diary was inspired by a 2006 New York Times story about Florence Wolfson. She was a headstrong New York teenager who wrote a few lines every day for five years, starting on her 14th birthday in 1929, in a little red leather diary. The diary sat forgotten for more than half a century in an old steamer trunk, in the basement of 98 Riverside Drive, until the building cleared out its storage in 2003. This version keeps the same simple idea: a few lines daily, five years on one page. It's beautifully designed and easy to stick with. It makes an ideal gift for sophisticated nostalgics, new parents, dreamers, schemers, and plain old lovers of good design.
What Makes It Special
Writing just a few lines a day is the trick. It's short enough to actually keep up, and by year three you've built a little time machine. For new parents, it's a gentle way to record the first five years without starting a baby book they'll feel guilty about. Fans of Offline Activities may recognize the sensibility: Tamara Shopsin, its coauthor, designed this diary too.
