Product Overview
The Advent candle holder is a quiet way to count down to Christmas: light one candle on the first Sunday of Advent, then add one more each week until all four are glowing. This one is made from painted iron with leaf and berry details and a hand-painted finish that gives it a softly worn, vintage look. At about eight inches across, it fits a dining table, sideboard, or windowsill without crowding out the cookies.
What Makes It Special
The Advent wreath is usually credited to Johann Hinrich Wichern, a Hamburg pastor who made one in 1839 for the children in his care. His version held a small candle for each day of Advent and a big one for each Sunday. Four is much more manageable.
